Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to the child who made me a mom. I had no idea what joy and laughter and depth of feeling you would bring me. You are a conversationalist, a dreamer, and a lover of life. You are always up for an adventure whether it's to the store, to the zoo, or to another state. You love to sing and listen to music, play cars, dig in the dirt, and create. You feel things deeply and you laugh easily. I love watching you care for your family and friends and try to make sure we are safe and loved. Your mind is constantly at work-- observing, wondering, analyzing. Your memory is beyond helpful to me especially when I forget to buckle your seatbelt, load your bike in the car, or pack your special blanket for an overnight stay at GiGi's. Your independence is flourishing and while a tiny part of me longs for that baby boy with bright blue eyes, I am exceedingly proud of all you can do and handle on your own.

You are wonderfully made and I am overwhelmingly blessed to be a part of the tapestry of your life.
